4 Home Design Setups Rules

There are several ways to arrange furniture. Since it’s an art, there’s always room to make mistakes. In other words, a flawless room requires trial and error.

That said, here are 4 rules of home design setup that experts consider tricks of the trade:

1: Couches Should Have a Little Breathing Room

Giving couches a little space can make the room look bigger. Also, they could do with some breathing space too. If you’re facing restrictions with space, then move the side tables or chairs a couple of inches out so as to open up the room.

2: Area Rugs Belong Under Furniture

Avoid rugs that are small. Instead, pick rugs that are as big as the seating area or whichever area you’re working with. The reason for this is a small rug will make a small room look smaller. It will make a large room look disconnected. Also, rugs look much better when all the furniture is on them.

3: Spread Light Across The Entire Room

In a space, lighting is considered to be most important. Better still: the placement should maximize light in the room. That said, spread light around the room and make sure every corner gets enough attention. In other words, keep it balanced. Now, if you have placed a lamp next to your bed. Place another two strategically to create a triangle of light.

4: Curtains Should Be Placed As High As Possible

Drapes should be hung as high as possible. In particular, from the ceiling to the floors. This makes the ceiling look higher while making the room look bigger. On the contrary, if the curtains are too short or hung too low, then they’re not taking seriously.
