harmonsfurniture may 2016Furnishing and keeping a tiny bedroom neat, can be a challenge. But since space is at a premium, tiny bedrooms are becoming the norm. Here’s how to make the most of your space and not feel like you’re cramped.

Create Depth With Mirrors – Mirrors can look like additional windows and therefore provide the illusion of depth and space. To incorporate mirrors in your bedroom, look at hanging several small mirrors, grouped together on one wall space.

Under Bed Storage – Tiny bedrooms are short of storage and this is why every inch of space should not be wasted. For easy under the bed storage, invest in flat square storage boxes with handles. These can be easily pulled out and put back when needed.

Built-in dresser – If you don’t have the space for free standing furniture, speak to your carpenter and have a built-in dresser installed.

Lighting – Good lighting choices will blur the corners of your room, making it look larger. To create soft lighting, choose a neutral coloured shade with a low voltage bulb.

Use a peaceful palette – To create more space, your colour palette needs to only include a few shades. Look to choosing a minimum of 4 colours of similar hues and include these on your walls, furnishings and bedding.

Desk – Add a small desk close to the bed, to provide a work station and to double up as a nightstand. Pair your desk with a small chair that is sleek and not too bulky.
