Different bed designs

harmonsfurnitureToday’s beds come in a number of styles. If you’re planning on purchasing a new bed, firstly have a look at your current bed. Look at its style, size, mattress and other features. Have a look at your space and ask yourself how much space you are willing to let your bed take up. You should also have a look at your cupboards and openings (doors and windows). You should have sufficient space to access them with the size of bed you are considering. Here are number of bed designs currently in the market;

Captain’s beds – These beds are inspired by beds made for ships. They come with storage underneath the mattress. They are great for children’s rooms, small rooms or a guest bedroom.

Day beds – These are beds for napping or sitting on during the day. They are compact and are generally placed alongside a wall. They can be used in small rooms or guest rooms, as they fit into smaller spaces. You could also consider this type of bed as an addition to your living room.

Four-poster beds – These beds are best for large rooms with high ceilings. Four poster beds bring about a sense of romance and become the feature of a room.

Hollywood beds – These beds are very low to the floor and are sleek in design. They are very stylish with tailored headboards.

Platform beds – The legs on these beds are hidden, making it look like the mattress is “floating” on a stage like box. These beds look best in a modern minimalistic setting.
